Passenger Flights to Coventry Airport
Following the recent purchase of
Coventry Airport and proposed plans for the return of passengers
flights, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, owners of neighbouring
Brandon Marsh Nature Reserve are keen to meet with the new airport
operator to discuss any environmental issues that may arise.
Stephen Trotter, Chief Executive said, "The Trust recognises the
need to balance the economic benefits for the area with protecting
the local environment. We understand that the proposed return
of passenger flights to Coventry Airport could contribute to the
local economy and provide jobs which are clearly an important issue
for the local people in the current economic climate. At the
same time, the Trust cares for several nature reserves in and
around Coventry which are very important for their resident and
migrant bird populations and are visited by thousands of Coventry
people."
