Lottery Fund, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust and Bishops Itchington
Parish Council are pleased to announce the start of the Yellow Land
Natural Heritage Project; a new and exciting project which will
develop an acre of land in Bishops Itchington into an interesting

Working alongside Warwickshire Wildlife
Trust, the Parish Council submitted an application to the Heritage
Lottery Fund which was subsequently successful and are now planning
a programme of conservation work to include scrub clearance and
wildflower planting and to enable the local community to enjoy the
scenery further there will be a path and seating installed at the
site. The project will also include a series of children's
activities working alongside schools oral history recordings of
local people's memories of the site with trained volunteers
supported by interpretation boards and leaflets. The
project's main focus is to encourage local people to be more aware
of the wildlife on their doorsteps.
The project will take approximately 18
months to complete and began back in September 2009. There are a
number of events organized for spring / summer 2010 including bat,
bird and butterfly surveys and a range of other family
activities.
