Tudor Grange
Park Project
We are working on a youth engagement
project in Tudor Grange Park in Solihull funded by SMBC.
The initial aim of the project is to
address anti social behavior taking place in the park and bring
awareness to safety and address perceptions of youth in the park
held by peers and other generations. We are supporting the young
people to promote positive activities in the park and support them
to put on events and take an active role in the park to bring
change to their personal experiences and to those who also use the
green space.
Staff have been meeting and chatting with
the youth at the skate park for some weeks now, with lots of
interest. Some photographs have been taken and edited and young
people are having input on the design of the project posters. In
the new year the project hopes to strengthen links with the local
schools to further support young people who want to organise a
skate competition in the summer at the park, as well as other
creative projects in the lead up to the event. We will support
young people to lead on some of the key decision-making during the
project. In return the young people will spend time carrying out
park improvements over the duration of the project.
