The main problem at Coventry is the position of the airport.  CAA recommends that large birds are excluded from a distance of 10 miles form the airport.  Brandon Marsh Nature Reserve, Coombe Abbey Country Park and Ryton Pools Country Park are less than 2 miles away - and Coombe Abbey is directly under the flight path!  It would be difficult to find a more unsafe location for a passenger airport anywhere in Warwickshire.

Wetlands with geese and large birds are circled.

Any Environmental Impact Assessment would identify this serious threat to the safe operation of Coventry Airport.  Is it any surprise that TUI has resisted calls for an Environmental Report?

What are the options for the future?
