titled ‘Lavishing Conservation Care on the Lady of the Woods’. The project
is focussed upon the rare wood white butterfly (Leptidea sinapsis), which is
nick-named ‘Lady of the Woods’ due to it having one of the most
delicate flights of any British butterfly.
This open day is one
aspect of the project, which will enhance the woodland for the Wood White
Butterfly and provide opportunities for people to become involved in the
woodland’s management.
Please use car parking facilities at
Ryton
Pools
Country
Park
, and please note that the usual parking charge of £1.50 still applies.
Eddie Asbery
, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust’s Woodland Project
Officer, said, “This open day is a
golden opportunity for everyone to come and see what is involved in
managing this special woodland. Please come and join in with activities
related to that management and meet the people whose job it is to make
sure that the wood remains a good wildlife habitat. This is going to be a
great day out, so don’t miss it.”
