2007…………...For Immediate Release
GLOW-WORM WALK
All aglow on the Common
On Friday
15th June 2007
Warwickshire Wildlife Trust invites you to an enchanting Glow-Worm Walk on
Kenilworth
Common Nature Reserve.
At 9.30
pm on Friday 15th June join
volunteer wardens Howard and Serena Eccles for an evening Glow-Worm Walk
around Kenilworth Common Local Nature Reserve. The
Common is an area of wonderfully diverse woodland located within the
centre of
Kenilworth
.
This activity is a
fantastic opportunity to learn about the glow-worm. For example, did you
know that it is not actually a worm, as the name suggests, but a beetle!
Also, it is not common in the
UK
but luckily it can be found in parts of southern and mid
England
.
In addition to improving
your knowledge of glow-worms and answer any questions you may have about
them you will learn more about the role of volunteers within Warwickshire
Wildlife Trust. Please meet at
Kenilworth Common by
Common
Lane
Railway
Bridge
(SP 296738), but notify Brandon Marsh Visitor Centre so they can make sure
you have a place.
To assist in the management of our nature reserves, we ask for a donation
of £2.00 per person for our guided walks. Joining our work parties is
free of charge.
For all events all you need to bring is appropriate weatherproof clothing
and strong footwear. A torch will also be needed as this event will take
place in late evening.

truly fantastic opportunity to learn about a creature you may never
otherwise have a chance to, at a place where it can be seen at its best
– especially as they are only active for a few months a year.
It gives chance to enjoy one of our reserves and appreciate its
full night-time beauty! For
