WALKING
Warwickshire Wildlife Trust invites you join one or more of the following guided walks around some of our lovely local Nature Reserves.

BLUEBELLS                         THURSDAY MAY 17 at 7.00pm [Please note midweek date
Come to Crackley Woods and join Jon Holmes, your guide, on this walk to enjoy the bluebells in all their glory. Find out more about the work done by Jon and his team to maintain and enhance the site.

ORCHIDS and other hay meadow flowers                    SUNDAY MAY 20 at 2.00pm

PLEASE NOTE:         We regret that NO DOGS are allowed EXCEPT on the bridleway.

Local ecologist, Richard Wright leads this walk through Draycote Meadows, Warwickshire’s finest hay meadow. Join him and see how many wild flowers you can identify.

A WOODLAND IN SPRING                                            SUNDAY MAY 20 at 2.30pm
Volunteer Warden, Ron Hill leads this walk around Clowes Wood. Come and enjoy the peace of this magnificent wood as well as finding out about its history and ecology.

1km west of Earlswood. Car parking off Wood Lane.
Please note that the railway line must be crossed by the footbridge.

WIND IN THE WILLOWS                                                SUNDAY MAY 20 at 2.00pm

This riverside ramble along the River Arrow Local Nature Reserve, led by Steve Godfrey, is an opportunity to enjoy both the tranquillity of the site and to learn something of the way in which it is managed.

  • On Saturday 19 May at 10.00am:
    • Join warden Jon Holmes for a practical woodland management session at Crackley Wood Local Nature Reserve, Kenilworth. Please meet at the entrance to the wood off Crackley Lane at grid reference SP289738.

Bernie Higgins, Reserves Biodiversity Officer at Warwickshire Wildlife Trust says, “Spring is one of the best times of the year to be outside, whether you are enjoying the peace and tranquillity of one of our magnificent areas of woodland or becoming more involved with your local nature reserve by joining in with one of the work parties.  Not only will you learn more about your local wildlife but the workparties are a great way to meet like-minded people, as each reserve has a team of friendly, regular volunteers who always welcome new faces.”
