WOODLAND WALKING
Sunday 13
May, 2007 at 10 am:
Warwickshire
Wildlife Trust invites you join a guided walk around Wappenbury Wood, near
Princethorpe. As well as helping you to identify the wealth of wild
flowers blooming in the wood, Eddie, your guide, will be describing the
ecology of the area and how we manage the woodland in the context of the
wider large area project.
Woodland Project Officer Eddie Asbery says, “Wappenbury Wood
is one of the largest woodlands in Warwickshire and it is part of the
Princethorpe Woodlands Large Area, an exciting project which is being
developed to link areas of woodland so that the wildlife in each woodland
has the possibility of being able to move to others and therefore enlarge
their habitat. For some species, such as Wood White butterflies and the
ever-popular dormouse, this enlargement of their habitat is a crucial
factor in not just their survival”.
