TOUCHING
WOOD
At
10.00am on Sunday 13 July Warwickshire
Wildlife Trust invites you to join
volunteer warden Dave Solliss at Hampton
Wood, Barford to work in
this beautiful ancient woodland and its associated wet meadow alongside
the River Avon. Meet at the
entrance [grid reference SP254600] on the Sherbourne to Hampton Lucy road.
This
event is free and full training will be given.
For
the event, all you need to bring is appropriate weatherproof clothing and
strong footwear.
Eddie
Asbery, Reserves Woodland Project Officer at Warwickshire Wildlife Trust
says,
“Woodlands are quite magical places in early summer, and whilst there
is plenty of work to be done, there’s also time to enjoy your
surroundings. No artist’s palette can carry the countless shades of
green to be seen; the dappled sunlight on the woodland floor changes shape
like a kaleidoscope as the leaves shiver in the breeze. Join in with our
work party and help to make
Hampton
Wood to be just that bit more spell binding.”
