SUMMERWATCH WORK PARTIES

On Saturday 29 June at 10.00am Warwickshire Wildlife Trust invites you to join in with one of our work parties:
Join volunteer warden Dave Solliss at Hampton Wood, Barford to work in this beautiful ancient woodland and its associated water meadows alongside the River Avon.  Meet at the entrance [grid reference SP254600] on the Sherbourne to Hampton Lucy road.

Join volunteer wardens Howard and Serena Eccles at Kenilworth Common Local Nature Reserve, an area of wonderfully diverse woodland for a practical management session. Meet at the railway bridge on Common Lane , at grid reference SP299732.

These events are free and full training will be given.

For each event, all you need to bring is appropriate weatherproof clothing and strong footwear.

Eddie Asbery, Reserves Woodland Project Officer at Warwickshire Wildlife Trust says, “Perhaps you have been following the fortunes of the nesting birds and the Scottish Wild Cat on Springwatch? Well, now’s your chance to have a more hands-on involvement with nature yourself. It’s not only the telegenic animals and birds featured in Springwatch that depend on well-managed habitats to survive and flourish; the needs of everything from the ugliest beetle to the most insignificant-looking grass are vital, and by helping with one of our work parties you will be making an invaluable contribution to the health of our reserves. The bugs will love you!”
