NEW
PATH FOR CLOWES WOOD
A 15
strong team from HSBC’s Solihull Commercial Centre took a day away from
lending money to lending support to build a new path at Clowes Wood Site
of Special Scientific Interest, Earlswood, to support Warwickshire
Wildlife Trust.
The
HSBC task force excavated a footpath through Clowes wood moving many
tonnes of stone and holly branches for the path as well as creating an oak
bench from timber felled as part of a woodland management scheme.
Eddie Asbery
, Woodland Project Officer from Warwickshire Wildlife
Trust said
“This
work has improved access along
previously difficult and muddy paths in Clowes Wood. The use of recycled material
created through our woodland management and natural stone means the path
and bench are very environmentally friendly as well as allowing a section
of this popular woodland to be fully accessible all year round. We are
grateful to HSBC for funding this project. “
Nick
Henman, Head of Solihull Commercial Centre said
“Taking
time to give something back to the local community we work in is very
important to me and I hope all the visitors will now enjoy the beautiful
wood. I hope our work will aid Warwickshire Wildlife Trust in maintaining
this local woodland.”
