WILDLIFE VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED

Do you enjoy engaging with children? Are you passionate about wildlife and conservation? Would you like to support our Education team as it enters its spring and summer season of events. We are looking for volunteers to support the education team in delivering environmental education to the large numbers of schools, children and families who visit Brandon Marsh Nature Centre in Coventry each year to learn more about the environment.

Environmental issues and wildlife awareness is an important part of every child’s education and our activities are linked to the national curriculum. The role will range from teaching young children about basic identification of plants and animals to more in-depth classes aimed at secondary pupils, holiday and family workshops, after school clubs, brownies, cubs and children’s birthday parties. Typical activities range from pond dipping, minibeast hunting and bird watching to creating models and masks out of natural materials.

Anyone interested must have an out going enthusiastic nature and the ability to engage with children and young people, previous experience is desirable, as is excellent, communication skills and the ability to motivate and encourage all ages to enjoy outdoor learning.
