March 2008…………...For Immediate Release
Warwickshire
Wildlife Trust in your area
Many
people are interested in wildlife and environmental issues but many -
perhaps most - don't know how to turn that interest into something more.
That's why Warwickshire Wildlife Trust tries to ensure that it has a range
of activities for people to get involved in, according to their interests,
abilities and availability, in their local area. The Trust has a number of
local groups organizing a variety of popular walks, talks, events and
conservation work across the county.
The
Stratford
area group organizes monthly talks on wildlife, conservation and the
environment at the Annexe to the Methodist Hall, Old Hall,
Stratford
from October through to March. The talks, by interesting and knowledgeable
speakers, cover a wide range of subjects so there is something for
everyone. For the more active, there are regular conservation working
parties at local reserves.
The
final talk of the current season will be on 14th March, on the subject of
Wildlife Crime and Protection. It will be one of the last such
presentations by the County's Wildlife Protection Officer, PC Craig
Fellowes, because the role has been axed, so please do come
along and see what we are losing.
All
of the Trust's area groups are run by valued volunteers who put time and
effort into organizing a variety of interesting activities for local
people. New ideas from people interested in getting involved are
always welcome. If you'd like to find out more about what there is in your
area, contact Tricia Scott on 01789 731398.
